Wisła - also known as the jewel of the Beskidy Mountains - is a town exquisitely situated at the springs of the Vistula River, with over a hundred-year long tradition of a holiday resort. Located in the valley of three creeks: Czarna Wisełka, Biała Wisełka and Malinka, it occupies a relatively large space.
What makes this place exceptional is the neighbourhood of the centre of
Wisła, throbbing with life, with the closeness of the idyllic mountain
valleys. It takes merely a few minutes to leave the main promenade and
become surrounded by green meadows and forests.
The highest point of Wisła is the Barania Mount (1220 above the sea
level) with a viewing tower from which on a clear day it is possible to
see the peaks of the Tatra Mountains. The surrounding mountain ridges of
the Silesian Beskid allow for active leisure activities - either hiking
and cycling in summer or ski runs in winter. We also cater for
adrenaline-lovers: you can ride quads here, have fun on snowmobiles or
wander the trails on horseback. Only in Wisła there are several ski
lifts and artificially snowed slopes. Tourist infrastructure of the town
continues to develop, broadening the offer year after year. The ski
jump opened in 2008, the largest facility of this type in Poland apart
from the one at Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane, every year gathers fans of
Adam Małysz looking forward to the performance of this renowned ski
jumper and resident of Wisła.
Other attractions include:
- the Czerniańskie Lake
- the President’s Castle
- Adventure Park
- the Kocyan’s Cottage with folk art gallery
- the Evangelical Augsburg Church of St. Peter and Paul the Apostoles from the 19th century
- the Andrzej Podżorski Museum of Beskidy Mountains with the neighbouring “U Niedźwiedzia” Gallery.
